Works under the diredt supervision of a nurse of higher classification to perform limited and specified professional practical nursing duties in the school setting.

Salary Commensurate With Experience

Must have graduated from a state accredited school of Practical Nursing and licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Tennessee. (PROOF OF EDUCATION IS REQUIRED.)
1. Must possess a valid Tennessee Driver's License or secure one upon date of employment.
2. Must have daily access to an operable automobile and meet County requirements for automobile insurance upon date of employment.
1. Performs procedures such as gastronomy tube feedings, clean intermittent catheterization, blood glucose checks or decubitus care.
2. Administers medications.
3. Assists patients with activities of daily living, positioning and mobility.
4. Delivers first aid and other emergency care as well as routine school health care such as head lice management.
5. Assists in screening patients or records and/or school personnel and participates in follow-up of screenings.
6. Accompanies children on school buses in some circumstances.
7. Keeps records and makes reports.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

3. Ability to deal tactfully with the public and co-workers.
4. Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely and convincingly.
