Works under general supervision of the IV-D supervisor and manager to serve subpoenas, summons, garnishments, warrants, attachments, and other official instruments for the Juvenile Court of Memphis and
Shelby County, Tennessee.



SALARY:
$2,299.00 Monthly

1. Two (2) years of field experience in a law enforcement capacity; and
2. Graduation from an accredited high school or possess GED.
3. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED)

1. Must pass a psychological examination.
2. Must possess a valid Tennessee Driver's License or secure one as of employment date and have use of an operable automobile and meet County standards for automobile insurance.
3. Must attend in-service training and qualify for firearm.
4. Must be eligible to become commissioned as a Special Deputy Sheriff before completion of probation period.
5. Must be able to obtain certification for the State of TN handgun permit.
6. Must pass a drug test.
7. Must have reliable transportation in order to serve legal documents.
8. Must pass criminal background check.
9. Must be able to successfully complete POST Certification training thru the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
10. Must pass a physical examination administered by an agency designated by the Health Department.
• Serve summons, subpoenas, garnishment and other Court instruments related to IV-D activity.
• Make and/or assist in arrests on warrants and attachments.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Maintain a system of files as required.
• Perform other related IV-D duties as assigned or directed.
1. General knowledge of legal instruments to be served.
2. General knowledge of law enforcement processes and techniques.
3. Ability to make quick, sound decisions based on a given situation.
4. Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with the public and co-workers.
5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employers, school officials and other associated agencies.
