Works under direct supervision of an assigned supervisor to perform interviews and investigations required in the control of various diseases related to the general health of the community.


SALARY:
$2,522.00 Monthly

1. Two (2) year’s experience in a Counseling, Investigation, or Administrative Health related capacity; and
2. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University in Social Sciences; or
3. Equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.
4. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR IS REQUIRED)

1. Must possess a valid Tennessee driver's license or secure one as of date of employment.
2. Must have daily access to an operable automobile and meet county requirements of automobile insurance as of date of employment.
3. Successfully complete (2) a two week CDC training course "Introduction to STD intervention and HIV counseling and testing" prior to completion of probation.
1. Conducts necessary epidemiological investigations to establish exact relationships between patient and contributing factors as they relate to any reportable public health entity.
2. Shows the patient the importance of complete medical treatment and prolonged follow up.
3. Keeps records, makes reports, correlates information and collaborates information with other jurisdictional agencies.
4. Locates, interviews, educates, and motivates persons in regard to immunizations, chronic disease control, and other measures related to the health of the individual or community.
5. Prepares routine forms.
6. Researches patient information.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

2. Awareness of the principles of public health and of the objectives of the public health program.
3. Ability to deal tactfully with the public and co-workers.
4. Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
